
MCCALL, Idaho (CBS2) — On Saturday at approximately 11:41 p.m., McCall Police Department officers responded to a report of an unconscious individual lying in the bike path near the Lenora Street and Wooley Avenue intersection. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious male who was injured. Officers immediately began administering CPR.
Shortly after, McCall Fire Department Paramedics and EMTs arrived and took over medical care. The victim was transported to St. Luke's McCall, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The victim's family has been notified.
On Sunday, McCall Police officers asked community members to review video surveillance from nearby areas and contact the department or Valley County Dispatch with any information beneficial to the investigation.
In the following days, officers located what they believed was the suspect vehicle from the incident. Officers reviewed additional evidence, conducted multiple interviews and eventually identified the driver as 36-year-old Robert Harding Tunison from Caldwell.
Officers then obtained an arrest warrant for Tunison, charging him with Vehicular Manslaughter and Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, both felony offenses in Idaho.
On Thursday, Tunison was located by a Valley County Sheriff's Deputy near the Valley County and Adams County northern border and was ultimately taken into custody by the Adams County Sheriff's Office.
